Wings

The last thing I'll do to Iron Man before placing him on a background with smoke, explosions and ruble is to give him wings, because wings are awesome.

I found this image:

Which is the nearest to mechanical metal wings which weren't just a metal broach I could find.
I cut it out using the magic wand tool and then refined the edges using the eraser tool.

The "feathers" seem too spares, so I copied and pasted one in each of the spaces between them, and then pivoted each new feather so it was at the right angle by placing the mouse near the Corner Transform Control where a little curved arrow will appear, this allows you to click and drag where it spins the image.

This is the result after being turned slightly to fit behind Iron man:


I then applied a Hue/Saturation layer over the wings to make them appear more golden near the colour of the gold on Iron Man, then added blue tips to the wing feathers. Then finally darkened the wings and Iron Man.
